Medicare Part A covers the cost of hospital care, care in Skilled Nursing Facilities following a hospital stay, home health care, and hospice care. To an older generation, and to the bafflement of people born after 1980, Part A does not cover the professional services of physicians that a person receives during a hospital stay.
